Dead Space 2 has been confirmed by EA – and the original game’s protagonist Issac will return.
But what about EA’s other original title: Mirror’s Edge?
Consider it half-confirmed.
EA Europe’s Patrick Soderlund said to Videogamer at E3 2009, “You’ll see another Mirror’s Edge for sure. It’s just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it. We have a small team on it and I’m excited about what we do.”
But considering the recent layoffs at EA, we wouldn’t take his word as gaming gospel.
According to Joystiq, EA said: “Survival isn’t the only thing on Isaac’s mind in Dead Space 2. This time, he calls the shots.”
Sounds to us like you’ll have the power to command your own ship and other members of the crew. Just don’t give us an annoying co-op buddy like Resident Evil 5 EA, if you want your game even to be as remotely atmospheric as the first.
From the image above from this month’s cover of USA’s Game Informer, it looks like Issac has also got himself some new threads. His chest even looks… alien-like. Could this mean he’s becoming a freak alien/human hybrid with all kinds of new powers? We hope so.
And there’s going to be multiplayer. Screw it up though and you might just get yourselves one of our open letters, EA. You have been warned.

With that new look chest I’m not sure if it’s Isaac or Simon Cowell. Loved the first game, let’s hope this one stays true to the IP.
