Another surprise addition to our naming and shaming of journalists: this month we’ve got a writer from the Wall Street Journal who hasn’t a clue about gaming.
Or even the Internet for that matter…
Here’s a quote the Wall Fail Street Journal used on 22nd September from a Dow Jones Newswire piece, written by a certain Kate Zhao, about the possible buyout of games developer THQ:
“Take-Two has a number of strong franchises and a number of wholly owned Internet Protocols.
“Wholly owned IPs not only carry higher profitability, but also are more valuable to media companies because they could be adapted into movies, TV serials and online destinations.”
Uhh… Wall Street Journal – when you say IP, don’t you really mean ‘Intellectual Property?’
Kate, we’re pretty sure you can’t adapt Internet Protocols into films. Or even games for that matter.
Get back to the drawing board and learn your profession!
