Timesplitters 4 returns!

By Dom Sacco | April 4th, 2008

It may be an old announcement (made half a year ago) but it’s news to me.

Timesplitters 4 has been more or less confirmed by Free Radical Design, who released a video – a rather cheeky stab at Master Chief and the Halo series.

If it’s anything to go by, it looks as if there’ll be monkeys again (please God don’t let them back in multiplayer) and plenty of banana-themed content (please no tacky sexual innuendos)!

It’ll be interesting to see whether Free Radical Design choose to keep the franchise’s classic characters or conjure up some quirky new ones, and what kind of game engine they’ll use.

But if it’s anything like Future Perfect, I’m sure the next-gen Timesplitters is going to be a winner – awesome level design, great gameplay and warm, silly humour. Someone just tell me – why does everyone love monkeys in video games?

there shouldn’t be any ts1 characters on it and there should be some weapons that don’t exist but created by the team

or a zombie mod where if you get killed by a zombie you turn into one ,the zombies should also walk slow on 4player split screen instead of like ts2 where zombies run at you and shoot

Hi aloys, cheers for your response.

I disagree with your view that there shouldn’t be any characters from the first Timesplitters in the game – Robofish et all were classic and should make a comeback!

The zombie and yeti ideas sound good though – infection is a similar sort of multiplayer mode from Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect.

[...] Timesplitters 4 has been in production for over a year already, which makes the situation even worse. There’s been some great concepts and ideas thrown about and it would be a great shame to see all that hard work go to waste. [...]
