The social life-killing World of Warcrack returns with a new expansion, including two new playable races!
WoW: Cataclysm has been announced at the annual Blizzcon event in California – we reveal full details of changes the expansion will bring…
- Two new playable races – Goblins for the Horde and Worgen for the Alliance (full details below)
- Level cap raised to 85
- Flying mounts in Azeroth (as well as Outlands)
- Guilds can now “level up” as a team and unlock special rewards
- New secondary profession – Archeology
- New race/class combinations including Human Hunter, Orc Mage, Night Elf Mage, Blood Elf Warrior, Dwarf Shaman, Dwarf Mage, Undead Hunter, Tauren Paladin, Tauren Priest, Gnome Priest and Troll Druid
- Azeroth’s landscape altered by Cataclysm – old locations have been wrecked by the earthquakes and changed by the surrounding destruction
- Cross-server ‘LFG’ (looking for group) system – you can now team up with players from other servers for the main questline
- New areas – Uldum, Grim Batol and the great sunken city of Vashj’ir beneath the sea
- And for the hardcore: New dungeons and raids:
- Grim Batol: level 85
- Skywall: level 80 – 82
- Abyssal Maw: level 80-84
- Deepholm: level 80-83
- Uldum: level 83-85
- Blackrock Caverns: level 85
- Heroic Shadowfang Keep: level 85
- Heroic Deadmines: level 85
- The Firelands – Ragnaros returns
- Nefarian’s Throne Room – so does Neffy
Goblins – Horde

- “Best Deals Anywhere,” receive the best discounts with vendors (passive)
- “Better Living Through Chemistry,” increases Alchemy skill by 15 points (passive)
- “Pack Hobgoblin,” summons a personal assistant to access your bank for up to a minute
- “Rocket Barrage,” launches “belt rockets” at an enemy within 30 yards, dealing 30 fire damage
- “Rocket Jump,” uses the rocket belt to propel the user forward
- “Time is Money,” increases attack and casting speed by 1% (passive)
- Can play as warrior, hunter, rogue, priest, death knight, shaman, mage and warlock
Worgen – Alliance

- Can switch between Human and Worgen instantly
- “Darkflight,” increases your Worgen form’s movement speed by 70% for 10 seconds
- “Viciousness,” increases all damage done by 1% (passive)
- “Flayer,” increases skinning skill by 15 points and allows you to skin faster (passive)
- Can play as warrior, hunter, rogue, priest, death knight, mage, warlock and druid
